Le Albicocche Guidi

HIGH-QUALITY GROWERS

Combining decades of experience in agriculture with a focus on the use of modern technology and innovation, Guidi Farms, alongside the livestock breeding division, cultivates 800 hectares of land in Italy using integration cultivation techniques, with a commitment to quality and consumer health. Annually the farms produce approximately 400,000 kg of fruit including apricots, plums and persimmons. In 2009, all agricultural production received GLOBAL GAP certification, a protocol guaranteeing consumers that the agricultural production methods are safe and reliable with full accountability for: traceability, environmental protection, methods of cultivation, integrated pest management, worker health and safety, document management and internal audits.

For decades the company has produced the highest quality apricots with absolute respect for the environment and the beautiful hills of Emilia-Romagna. Apricots come from the apricot tree (Prunus armeniaca) part of the Rosaceae family (Genus: Prunus, Species: Prunus armeniaca,) and belong to the same family as cherries, peaches and plums. Apricots are beneficial to the skin and the eyes and are a precious source of antioxidants which are fundamental in protecting organs and tissues from damaging free radicals.

Based on long and careful research and analysis on flavour, consistency, sweetness, aroma, aspect, and shelf life we have selected new varieties of apricots which have met with great success in wherever they’ve been introduced based on their delicious taste, pleasant appearance and firm yet juicy texture. Our goal is to specialise exclusively in the cultivation of apricots and today Guidi Group has a production cycle which guarantees that the Italian produce are available from May September.

Albisole is the Guidi Group’s elite trademark and includes 17 varieties of prestige apricots with outstanding flavor and a delicate aroma cultivated across Emilia-Romagna. Irresistible in their warm shades of orange and red, they’re recognised and certified as among the best Italian apricots. Currently the company is subject to stringent inspections by an external body tasked with securing and guaranteeing the continuity of the Global Gap certification for consumers.

Rubysole is a brand new trade mark encompassing nine varieties of particularly sweet red apricots with a distinctive scarlet skin.

Premium is a Guidi Group trademark that includes a range of prestige apricots cultivated in Romagna and grown specifically for the specialized fruit and vegetable retail market.

- ORCHARDS -

Our orchards enjoy the miraculous microclimate of the Emilia-Romagna hills which benefit from favourable winds coming in from the sea. At present we have approximately 330 hectares of apricot trees planted using innovative, relatively unknown varieties in Italy. The new orchards in Carpinello di Forlì, Roncofreddo, Longiano and Borghi have been planted following the latest and most advanced cultivation methods. The headquarters and main administration offices of the Fruit and Vegetable Division are located in Carpinello (close to Forlì) which is also home to the administration offices and the quality control department charged with ensuring the quality and traceability of every single batch of fruit.

ZERO RESIDUE* INTEGRATED PRODUCTION

Since 1968 a guarantee of quality agriculture. Since 2018 all Guidi fruit and vegetables are grown following certified Zero Residue* integrated production practices.

*ZERO RESIDUE:
SYNTHETIC PESTICIDES BELOW THE LIMIT FOR QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS (< 0.01 PPM)

Guidi farms is committed to cultivating based on the practices of low impact integrated agricultural production. These practices call for a reduction in the use of the technologies in fertilisation, soil management, pest control and plant defense systems common in conventional agriculture. This is achieved by carefully selecting the active ingredients and by adopting treatment timings and methods based on advanced agronomic techniques.

- CERTIFICATIONS -

The Global G.A.P. protocol was created by EUREP (Euro Retailer Produce Working Group) bringing together some of the largest international retail chains to meet the ever increasing demands for food safety and environmental protection. The GLOBAL G.A.P. standard guarantees consumers healthy and safe agricultural production methods, minimising the impact of agricultural activities harmful to the environment and the use of chemicals. As a result Guidi Farms have a conscientious, responsible commitment to guaranteeing consumer health and worker safety. GLOBAL GAP presents itself as a universal manual for Good Agricultural Practice (G.A.P.), a shared agreement between agricultural producers and food retailers created to build uniform, efficient certification for standards and procedures. In particular the Global Gap protocol calls for the management of:
- THE ENVIRONMENT
- THE PRODUCT
- WORKFORCE WELFARE AND SAFETY
- CORPORATE MANAGEMENT PROCEDURES

The GLOBALG.A.P GRASP standard is a set of guidelines for the assessment of social best practices in workplace health and safety used during inspections.

The IFS (International Food Standard) is designed to encourage efficient selection of food providers supplying branded goods to the major supermarket and food distribution groups, based on the provider’s ability to supply safe products in adherence of their contractual obligations and legal requirements. This model is recognised in Europe and across the world.
It is one of the food safety standards which is recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), which aims to strengthen and foster food safety throughout the supply chain.
